brand new NVMe SSD not detected.
-
I just bought CM5 laptop. and it came with this 1TB NVMe SSD.
.I plugged it to the laptop. it's not shown in the Disks App that's understandable b/c it's a brand new. So, I followed a lot of instructions on how to formatted it.
(I dont know how to get to CM5 laptop BIOS/UEFI to enable AHCI mode)
most of the command result like there is no NVMe plugged.
So I used "dmesg | grep -i pci" to get error related to PCI and got this.
-
- Confirm that SSD supports NVME protocol, SATA machines cannot support it
- ls /dev confirm if any nvme devices have been found
- Use commands to format the hard drive
sudo mkfs.ext4 /dev/nvme0*
