@George The latest Ubuntu image won't boot from either a usb stick nor if its imaged onto the laptop from my Macbook using ums mode,
both Debian and Arabian boot fine.
Have you updated your mesa from apt source?
Like the post you linked said. You have to keep mesa version with coolpi ppa if you want hardware accelaration.
Kernel 5.10 is using panfork, Which is specific mesa version needed.
If you want newer version mesa you have to switch to kernel 6.10 and use panthor driver instead.

At present, PD charging only supports charging when turned on, and does not currently support charging when turned off. The protocol only supports TYPEC PD format and does not support QC standards. So you need to use an adapter with TYPEC interfaces on both ends as shown in the following figure:
